A half-day online training that guides counsellors, social workers, and coaches to support clients exploring consent through trauma-informed somatic exercises. Facilitated by one of Canada’s leading sex and relationship therapists, Alice Curitz (she/her) PhD(c) RCC CCC CST.
All too often we support clients who struggle to connect with their bodies’ cues about what feels good and what does not when engaging sexually. Simple yes-no consent practices don’t adequately navigate the nuances of the real world, and helping our clients find their ‘yes’ so that they can enjoy the sexual and sensual sides of themselves can be challenging, especially for those who have experienced trauma.
As therapists, we can sometimes feel at a loss when it comes to exploring nuanced consent with our clients when we don’t have the tools to explore the topic in a meaningful and trauma-informed way.
Join Alice Curitz (she/her), RCC CCC and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, for a 3-hour online training exploring somatic approaches to consent.
Through a balanced variety of didactic and experiential learning opportunities focusing on best-practices in sex therapy, you’ll engage with a deeper and more nuanced framework for consent as well as learning new tools, strategies, and exercises to implement with your clients in sessions.
No prior sex therapy training is required, and this workshop implements an anti-oppressive, feminist, disability justice, sex-positive lens that ensures you can confidently and competently use what you learn with clients of all genders, backgrounds, cultures, identities, and experiences.

“Alice was a fountain of knowledge and created a safe space to learn and discuss difficult topics. This training provided a wealth of information of both historical and present day concerns during the teaching portion of the training, and new skills and approaches to use in the therapeutic space with clients during the application portion. The sex therapy portion was also extremely helpful as I find it is not focused on enough in many trainings.”
