As someone who has struggled with different mental health challenges and personal limitations without an understanding of the why and what to do with it, I was always interested in the intricacies of human interaction.  I wanted to do something with my life that made a difference and was naturally drawn to holding compassionate space for those around me. During my own mental health journey I struggled to find providers that matched how I saw myself which resulted in me deciding to be the change I wanted to see.

Hi, I'm Sawah (they/them).

I love to create an approach and plan that is as unique as you are, opting to get to know who you are and cultivate something that complements how you exist in the world around you. Due to this preference, I draw from a variety of approaches that include feminist theory, parts work, couples developmental model, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy and more.

Therapy can be messy, challenging, frustrating and gratifying. My goal is to be a shelter in this storm supporting you through the obstacles life throws at you, to hold space for all of you and to help you feel seen, heard, and understood.

I am committed to creating a practice that centres decolonization, intersectional feminism, anti-oppressive frameworks and transformative justice in a trauma informed way. I believe that you as a client are not responsible for my education regarding your identities.

My favourite areas to support you include:

  • Body image/acceptance and eating disorder recovery

  • Identity exploration (ADHD, Autism, Gender, Sexuality, Relationship Orientations)

  • Boundaries and Communication

  • Chronic Illness and Chronic Pain

  • Sex work and Kink (especially in navigating wellbeing and new dynamics)

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

I am an agender, queer, neurodivergent individual coming from British ancestry. I live on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Autonomous Sinixt as an uninvited guest. I offer telephone and video individual therapy sessions as well as group, and relationship sessions.

When I am not working, I enjoy receiving cuddles from my cats, listening to music, reading, bookbinding, painting, movement, gardening and connecting with people close to me.

I would love to get to know you over a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit to work together. Please feel free to email me or schedule a consultation through our online booking system.

Session Fee: $185 (plus applicable tax) per 50-minute session.
