I’m Mackenzie (they/them): an IndigiQueer counsellor who is passionate about engaging with our Indigenous cultures and connecting with other IndigiQueer humans to create spaces of shared healing and community.
Are you an Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ person or family living in either Alberta or British Columbia? If you’re looking for individual or family counselling and are seeking an Indigenous lens to therapy support, I invite you to work with me. I weave Indigenous ways of knowing and culture with Western mental health practices to provide holistic and culturally effective counselling services. I also offer play therapy for children, youth, and even adults who want to connect with themselves through play. Learn more about our programming and apply below.

Program Information
-
Who can access these services?
Individuals aged 13 to 29 years who are both Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+, and who live in either Alberta or British Columbia.
Children and youth under the age of 16 require parental consent to engage in services.
-
How many sessions does each person receive?
Each successful applicant will be allotted up to a maximum of 6 sessions to be used within a 3-month period.
-
How do I apply?
The first step is to fill out the form below (further down the page). You don’t need a referral from a medical or other professional, you can simply refer yourself to our program.
Due to limited funding for this program, we will close applications once all funding has been allocated.
-
What happens after I apply?
Once we receive your application, Mackenzie will reach out to you to offer a free consultation for you to meet with them to ensure you feel it’s a good fit before proceeding with sessions. If you determine that it’s a fit for you, you will then be invited to book and attend your counselling sessions.
Sessions are 50-minutes long and take place over Zoom.
-
What happens once I've used my funded sessions?
Once you have used all of your funded sessions, you are welcome to continue working with your therapist if you would like to. You will discuss their rates and availability with them.
We do not currently have funding capacity to offer additional sessions. We hope to secure additional funding and will open applications for renewals at that time.
Apply now.
Please complete the following form to refer yourself or your child to our program. You will be contacted to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with Mackenzie as soon as there is a spot available for you.
Please note, due to program capacity, at this time we only have funding remaining for individual sessions for folks ages 13+.
If you have any questions that have not been answered in the information above, please contact our Client Care Coordinator, Nicole, at admin@ourlandingplace.com
